Project Access – Accessible reception concept by Grand Opus Interiors

Project Access

A first-floor reception designed for easy access: a low, wide counter, warm stone-effect walls and a clear route from the door.

Where it started

Following the ground-floor reception, the client asked us to design a second reception upstairs that everyone could use comfortably, including wheelchair users.

An awkward landing with several doors and an exposed window. The counter had to welcome people at seated and standing height.

Seen in 3D first

Every surface, light and piece of furniture was modelled and approved before anything was bought or built. These are the renders the client signed off.

Decisions with a reason

  1. We designed a reception desk with a sloping timber-and-white front and a lower section at seated height.
  2. Warm beige stone-effect panels wrap the walls, with abstract artwork in the brand's gold and charcoal tones.
  3. We tested three blind options in 3D so the client could choose the level of light and privacy.
